Yeshua's Teachings 1

Matthew 9:35-38

35 And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. 36 But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.  37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Notice that Yeshua taught in the Synagogues. He only taught the Jews, more so His disciples and those that came to hear him. He did not teach the Gentiles. Paul taught the Gentiles. Paul was not laying a new foundation. Paul tells us that there was no other foundation but that one that Yeshua laid. What was the foundation that Yeshua laid? It was a Jewish foundation from a Jewish Messiah. He gave us Matthew ch 1 and Luke ch 1 to confirm His geneology going all the way back through David. He was The Son of David, the Messianic One that is to be expected. And if we go to any other foundation, if we go in any other direction as the churches tend to do,  you will end up with a bunch of myths. It has to be a foundation based upon the Torah, the Prophets and the Writings of the Hebrew Bible. That’s what Yeshua and Paul and all the Apostles and Disciples and Church Fathers had. The Tenach, the Hebrew Bible. The Hebrew Bible reveals the Christian Bible. Without it, the Bible starting with the Book of Matthew and ending with the Book of Revelation is a Roman Pagan book. YOU CAN’T HAVE ONE WITHOUT THE OTHER! This is a Jewish thing, a Jewish Testament with a Jewish Messiah and all the concepts of the High Priesthood and Redemption and Sacrifice through the Lamb of G-d is ALL Jewish. Without this foundation you could not possibly understand it correctly. We must lay upon this foundation as Paul did to the Gentiles. So Yeshua taught in the Synagogs and He limited His Ministry to the Jews as is evidenced by phrases as this one: “He taught in the Synagogs”. In one place He says: Go not to the Gentiles, go rather to the Lost Sheep of Israel with My message.” Later of course they went to all the World, the Nations. In Hebrew the word for nations and world is GOYIM: Gentiles. He said to go to all the Gentiles. This was Yeshua’s THIRD tour in Gallilee. Yeshua’s First tour was   Matthew 4:12

12 Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee;

When John was in prison, Yeshua took and went into Gallilee teaching and ministering. The SECOND Tour was in    Matthew 4:23

23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people.

His fame went north this time even into Syria. And the THIRD Tour is what we are seeing tonight: “The harvest is plenteous but the laborers are few.” Notice the three major emphasis or the themes of Yeshua that He taught in these Synagogs. He’s teaching the Gospel of the Kingdom and Healing every sickness and disease,  and Doing It! He’s teaching the Gospel of the Kingdom, He’s Healing everyone in every area of their lives and He’s doing it!!!! Not just concept, but action!! G-d is ACTION! G-D is a Verb! This is a Jewish thing. Yeshua taught and did Jewish stuff. The significance of a Synagogue is that it will have a Bet Midrash as part or as an attachment to it. A House of Study with a library that will teach you the Word of G-d. Not the Word of MAN or his opinions. This was the teaching center. They didn’t do the Sacrificing there, but they studied The Word. The very highest form of praise is to study G-D’s Word. The people prayed and studied in the Synagogue. The Bet Midrash was also the social center for the particular group who used it. The Sadducees had their own as did the Pharisees and each of the other sects. Within that was an even finer delineation. The carpenters, the brick makers, the farmers, each had his own. They flew a flag over each synagogue with the symbol of that synagogue. So if a Pharisee carpenter went from city to city, he would look for the banner or flag flying high over each synagogue to find his own luntzmen. That’s where the Church steeple of today got its origins. The Bet Midrash is where the children were taught. Qualified Rabbis taught even senior students. The first Bet Midrash was established after Noah’s Flood. It was established by Shem and Eber. And it was there that the Patriarchs studied. Along with Joseph and the other 11 sons of Jacob. The name of the first Bet Midrash was CHABAD. An acronym for the three Hebrew words: Chochma, Binah and Diat. Wisdom, Knowledge and Understanding.

A child of three years old was taught at home. At 13 years of age, the Bet Midrash. This term Bet Midrash is first recorded in the Apocryphal book Ekleasticis ch 51 v50. In the original language, Hebrew scholars believe that it is talking about the Bet Midrash in Proverbs 8:34:

34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.

It was customary to say a prayer upon entering the Bet Midrash and ask HaShem that they have no problem understanding toe Word for the day and that HaShem would give the Rabbi teaching them clarity and wisdom. And upon leaving, they would give thanks to Heaven (G-D) for casting their lot among those that dwell in the House of Study. There was great significance attached to this. It would have been a Bet Midrash such as Chabad were Yeshua would have received His education as a child and Teen. And as an adult, He would spend a lot of time there. Even eating and sleeping there. I’ve been there and done that and nothing feels righter (if that’s a word.) It’s the Bet Midrash that Yeshua is making reference to in Luke 12:3

3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

The allusion here is made to the method of teaching that was used in the Bet Midrash. The Doctor of the congregation whispered in the ear of the interpreter. The Dr. of the congregation was a master of not only G-d’s Word, but many languages of the day. He would whisper to his interpreter and the interpreter would literally shout it out to the students. And the Dr. only whispered in Hebrew into the ear when translating the meaning of Torah. He only used the Holy Language when elucidating on the Torah. He would use Aramaic in some of the Prophets and writings where it was necessary,

The Neturguram, the interpreter  was the man’s calling and office. The office of Neturguram is stilled used among the Yemonite Jews today. The whispering in the ear comes from the fact that only one man spoke to the students. No confusion, no debate.  Another reason is that G-d gave His Law from the Mountain to Moses for the People. He spoke to Moses, Moses spoke to Joshua, Joshua spoke to the heads of the 12 tribes etc, etc. The Interpreter not only taught the law but explained it, using the teachings of his predecessors in Judaism back to the days of Adam. The Interpreter was absolutely needed to teach the Oral Law, the Mishnah, which was still oral in Yeshua’s day. Only ten students for 1 teacher and only ten teachers for any one Neturguram. In the books of Ezra and Nehemiah, Ezra stood behind a wooden Bema and interpreted Torah to the people. Ezra was the Doctor of the Law of His day. He and Nehemiah were sages of their day. The Term “Teaching” is used 168 times in the Hebrew Bible. The word “Preaching” is only used 5 times. In the Christian Bible the word Teaching is used 168 whereas Preaching is used 138 times in the Christian Bible. The word PREACHING has the conentation of calling people to the TRUTH. The word TEACHING has the conentation of calling people to the understanding of the TRUTH.  This is v

Because the Apostles spent most of their time telling people the truth about Yeshua. Once they came into the Kingdom, they would then become Discipilos and be students for the rest of their life. IF YOU TELL SOMEONE THE TRUTH AND THEY BELIEVE YOU, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO TEACH THEM FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE, WHICH EVER COMES FIRST>  If you can’t teach them or don’t know a place that correctly teaches the Word, what are you doing for them pushing them into the Body of Christ? They don’t know who they are or what they are doing! And they’ll teach their children the same thing. That’s how all of our large churches started. Get them in and get them in and get them in. Numbers , Numbers, and more numbers. Not teaching the Word of Truth, just constantly Preaching and preaching and preaching it…. to the same people who are saved and don’t have a clue as to where to go from there. Notice the phrase : “healing EVERY sickness and EVERY disease among the people.” Doesn’t that sound peculiar? Yeshua healed them ALL. In Matthew 13:58

58 And he did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

Yeshua is in His Hometown and the people have little or no faith. So the ones in our scripture today must have all been men & women of faith. He couldn’t do many healings because of their unbelief. I’m not talking about having faith that they can be healed, I’m talking about no faith at all. Not even believing there is a G-D.

Yeshua goes into the Temple all of the time when He is in Jerusalem. When He went into the Temple, He came in through any number of the gates. The Gate Beautiful led right into the Women’s court. We know that Yeshua and His people met in the women’s court several times. We know that in the women’s court were 13 of these collection trumpets. We know that a widow dropped a widow’s mite. Yeshua made a note of this to His people. He could hear what went down the trumpet. Showing off your wealth was called

“Sounding the Trumpet”. Matt 6 tells us this is wrong to make a big show out of your tithe or offerings. The Widow gave MORE then anyone else because she gave all that she had. Acts 3:2

2 And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple;      Acts 3:10

10 And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.

This is a great story about a man that had been crippled from birth and was lying there asking to be healed. The scripture tells us that it apparently was his custom to be laid at the gate. This was the main entrance to the Temple for most people going in. Yeshua would have had to go past him to get in. So if Yeshua healed everyone, why didn’t He heal him?  He did heal him. Later on, Peter and John come in that gate, they yank the guy up and do it in the Name of Yeshua!!! Yeshua didn’t heal everyone. Not because of His lack of Power to heal, but of their lack of faith that G-D could heal them. Anyone that came to, or was brought to Yeshua, GOT HEALED! There are 23 times in the Christian Bible that tell us that everyone that came was healed. If they didn’t come because they didn’t believe G-D could heal, they didn’t get healed. Yeshua always pointed out shortcomings to people who came for healing. We don’t usually have the discernment to do that.

When He Saw, He WAS MOVED by compassion.” Are we moved by compassion or do we try to make everyone we see hurting a phony so we won’t have to help them. Get it straight within yourself. You are the one that will reap back what you sow. No way to stop the harvest, good or bad, you reap what you sow!  “G-d’s moved by compassion!”    “Well I was never faced with that kind of a situation.” “G-D never put me in that position.” Taking care of the hurting the way G-D wants you to will absolutely take you out of your comfort zone. If you worry so much about YOU, if you are so hung up on YOU, if you don’t have compassion for people and if you are not MOVED to help them because of it, you are on the very wide road. Take some stock in yourself. It is better to go without a meal so a starving person can eat than to eat the meal for yourself and not open your bowels of mercy. WE are faced with a man who is a brother in the Lord. He has two little children. His wife told me he was a G-d fearing man and always helped others so he knew G-d would help him. He needed a liver transplant. He needed $4500. dollars for the liver and $2000 a month for 3 months. I really would hate to tell him how many CHRISTIANS were asked for help and out of those, how many responded to his plea. The wheel goes round and round. G-D says that He will give and that He will take riches. There but for the Mercy of G-D go I. Those that  opened their bowels of Mercy, are truly children of the living G-D. As He is so are they. I can say G-d is my source because I sow into His Kingdom. Don’t be fooled by the devil. What we have, G-D has given us. We have to sow anything that is needed back to Him. He will make it good. He is your source. Weather it be $1.00 or $1,000,000, its G-D’s. Don’t think it’s yours, don’t shut up your bowels of Mercy or you will notice your bank account get smaller and smaller. I hate to be the one that is given this message to give to all of you out there, but when G-D whispers in my ear, I shout it out to the ones that will hear. If you are the redeemed of the Lord, say so. Not with your mouth, but by your actions. I think there is a greater thing here. The Bible says in Ezekiel 34 that when the Messiah came, He would be the Good Shepherd, he would be the Son of David, He would be the Messianic figure that was going to lead Israel as no one has ever led Israel. He would find Jews whose shepherds had left them or led them astray or didn’t care for them. He, Messiah would come and be their Good Shepherd.

We call the Pharisees hypocrites because they made loud noises with their tythes and offerings to G-d. At least they gave tythes and offerings to G-d. They bragged about their fasting but gave their meals fasted to the hungry. At least they gave their fasted food to the hungry. WE can’t expect everyone to be at the same place spiritually. But we can expect everyone who says,” I’m a Christian “ to act like one. Christ in us IS the Hope of Glory. A Believer is a doer. A Believer is a carer, a Believer SHOWS HE’S A believer.   John 7:49

49 But this people who knoweth not the law are cursed.

Sometimes I wonder if that phrase “Knoweth not”, doesn’t mean “knoweth and not do.”

Study to show yourself approved unto G-d. Study!  Then go and bring this word to those who are in need and DO THE WORD> When Yeshua saw pain and hurting, He was moved to Compassion. These were the lost ones of Israel. G-d had promised to send them a Shepherd Ezekiel 34:11-31

11 For thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out. 12 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.  13 And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them upon the mountains of Israel by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country. 14 I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel shall their fold be: there shall they lie in a good fold, and in a fat pasture shall they feed upon the mountains of Israel. 15 I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, saith the Lord GOD. 16 I will seek that which was lost, and bring again that which was driven away, and will bind up that which was broken, and will strengthen that which was sick: but I will destroy the fat and the strong; I will feed them with judgment.

17 And as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats.   18 Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but ye must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet? 19 And as for my flock, they eat that which ye have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which ye have fouled with your feet. 20 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD unto them; Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat cattle and between the lean cattle. 21 Because ye have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns, till ye have scattered them abroad; 22 Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle. 23 And I will set up one shepherd over them, and he shall feed them, even my servant David; he shall feed them, and he shall be their shepherd. 24 And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it. 25 And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods. 26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing. 27 And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them. 28 And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid. 29 And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.   30 Thus shall they know that I the LORD their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord GOD. 31 And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD.

When Yeshua was moved by compassion, He was saying again, “I am the Good Shepherd, I am Messiah!” He has come to seek and to find the Lost Sheep of Israel. Just another way of saying: I AM Messiah! Healing the broken is SAVING them.

Yeshua was moved by compassion. He fulfilled that Messianic promise. John 10:10

10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Luke 19:10-11

10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

11 And as they heard these things, he added and spake a parable, because he was nigh to Jerusalem, and because they thought that the kingdom of God should immediately appear.

He said over and over that He was Messiah. It was not by His Words But By His Actions. How do we show we are His? By our actions not our words. We are to imitate Him. Do the things He said to do. Waiting on the Lord is a Cop out. Waiting on the Lord is to wait as a servant a waiter. It is to do the things He wants us to do. Give Him the things He asks for. Isn’t that what a waiter does?

Ok, “The harvest is plenteous but the laborers are few.” The Rabbis in First Century Israel called their students “the Reapers”. They also called the harvest their work.   Next…

Yeshua instructs His followers to pray laborers into the harvest.  Mark 3:13

13 And he goeth up into a mountain, and calleth unto him whom he would: and they came unto him.

Luke 6:12-16

12 And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. 13 And when it was day, he called unto him his disciples: and of them he chose twelve, whom also he named apostles; 14 Simon, (whom he also named Peter,) and Andrew his brother, James and John, Philip and Bartholomew, 15 Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes, 16 And Judas the brother of James, and Judas Iscariot, which also was the traitor.

Yeshua prayed all night for results and then He “Did” them. He prayed all night, He got the Word of G-D, and He went down and DID IT!

He then went and called out 12 men . Guess what He told them? I will teach you. You are my Discipilos. What you hear from me,  DO IT!!! And continue to do it!

The Word says “He called them unto Him. He didn’t call them into the Ministry, He called them unto Him. He called them toward Himself. He called those He  knew would be disciplined students to sit at His feet and become DISCIPILOS, disciplined students. Why did He call 12?  12 is a Leadership number in Judaism.

Revelation 21:12-14

12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. 14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

One doesn’t see one with out the other, but one built upon the other. Christianities base is Judaism. Never replacing it but building on it.

Revelation 4:4 The twelve apostles and the twelve tribes are spoken about in this verse.

4 And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.

There is no church apart from the Jewish people and no Covenant aside from the Abrahamic Covenant. Yeshua came to make a way into the Abrahamic Covenant for the Gentiles, not take the Jews out of it.

Paul’s teachings are the same.

Romans 11:26

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

The same concept of salvation.  Look at Galatians 6:16

16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

Paul calls the believers those that are being Born from Above, he calls them the “Israel of G-D!”  He’s still calling gentile believers the Israel of G-D. Was he trying to separate the Gentiles from the Jews? Not hardly. I think Yeshua wouldn’t be too happy to come back and find a Gentile Roman Church. Totally devoid of it’s Jewish roots. We are under One G-d. The original Believers back in the First Century were ALL Jews. Up until 135 AD, there is a Jewish pastor in the church. Yeshua calls the 12 and gives them power. A major misconception in the Body of Christ is that ANYONE who knows the Word can get people saved, healed and delivered. No special deal. Just knowledge of G-D’s WORD. If anyone prays the prayer of faith in James 5, the one being prayed for will be healed. If they came to G-D in faith. Thay shall be healed!

James 5:13-17

13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms. 14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

It is the Word of G-d. It hasn’t got anything to do with us. The Power is His and so is the Glory His! There is a major misconception about power and it seem s to have arisen from the failure of what the Lord has told us to take by faith: Salvation is taken by faith. We take G-d’s promise to “forgive us if we ask”  by faith. I live for G-d by my works, but that comes after my faith showing my faith by a result of my faith, not getting faith. We are saved by Grace through faith. The Jews have always been saved by G-D’s Grace. They get to G-d by faith. The Book of James ch 5 tells us that if we pray the prayer of faith , by faith. People will be healed in EVERY area of their lives.

G-D gives some people more widom because they seek out His Word much harder than any body else would. How? By studying. If you know the Word, you know the Devil can’t walk in and steal your stuff. Not unless you let him. How do you let him in? By not telling him to get out in the Name of Yeshua. Remember Samson? The Word tells us that every time something weird happened to Samson, the Spirit of the Lord came upon him. G-D had anointed him and told his mother before he was born. Elijah and Elisha had an anointing that when Yeshua came centuries later, the Word says He would come in the Spirit of Elijah. Elijah was a man of G-d. He had fire in his bowels. That fire was the knowledge of the Word of G-d. The more he studied, the more the fire grew. In James 5 Yeshua tells us that the reason that Elijah was special is because he prayed. He knew the Word, he prayed the Word and HE DID THE WORD!!

Always remember this: John 3:27

27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

The power comes from G-D. If we except it, we get it. As we walk out in the POWER of who and what we are in Yeshua Hamashiak. As we go forth with fire in our belly, the more fire, the more we accomplish for G-d in the Kingdom. Elisha wanted a double portion of power. G-d gave it to him and he did TWICE the number of miracles that Elijah did! Twice!! READ the Bible. It is the answer, the only answer. It’s the truth and the truth will set everyone free. In the Name of Yeshua. We don’t know what’s going on in peoples lives, G-d knows. I have laid hands and prayed for people and they go fall  down on the floor. That’s why I like to pray for people under the Tallit, laying down. I call out demons in the Name of My Salvation, My Redeemer’s Name and the demons come out!!  I don’t really understand this stuff, but G-D does. I just DO what He says. If I can do it of my own ability, I DO IT!! If I can’t, G-D can! He is able to do all things.

We all have the Power in us, our faith gives us the degree in which  the Holy Spirit comes out of us and does the work.

There are many things that we do that we know how we do them and why, and there are other things we do because G-D says so. This went all the way back to Adam in the Garden. G-D is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow! He is an AWESOME G-D.  And He will do His Awesome Work through you, if you allow it. NO MAN can do these things unless G-d is with him.  Remember this always: The life of Yeshua in you gives you the right to be what the death of Yeshua for you gave you the right to become! Christ in you is the hope of Glory. Go out and BE it! Go out and DO it.  It’s up to you. Do you wait on the Lord sitting on your buttocks, or do you wait on the Lord as a Servant, a Waiter. As you wait on Him, His word will fill you from head to toe. His power will give you what it takes to set the captives free!!! Learn and do it, learn and do it! learn and do it!! Christ in you IS the Hope of Glory!! Thank you Lord for what you have given us and now Lord, please teach us to DO IT!

Boruch HaShem!!!!!
